Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand.

Fernando & Bryan: One morning I was running in the school’s soccer field with a North American friend, who I invited to ran with me. When in the distance, I looked that Bryan, one of our second grade students was sitting there. I left my friend and asked Bryan what he was doing so early at school. He told me slept in his older brother’s house with his mom and the rest of his family. I asked for his brother Fernando, and he was next to me with his head down and watery eyes. I asked him why he was crying and he said he wasn’t. I told Fernando that I am a father and know when children had cried.

I insisted and asked once again why they didn’t slept at their house; - “My mom ask us to go to our older brother’s house because my other sibling had a problem with one of the gangs. The gang members promise to visit our home and kill us all. My mom told us that we were going to die next to him.” So we ran away.

-           “So you couldn’t sleep yesterday?”, I asked.

He didn’t replied, he was crying in terror. I asked my friend Chris to stop running and to make a prayer for him. I asked Fernando if he believed that God can make a miracle, he nodded.

And that’s what faith is all about, saying yes when we don’t see immediate results.

I can’t finish comprehending what school does to these children. Even though going through a terrible night, Fernando and Bryan went to their classes. But we do understand when they don’t bring homework on time or when their test scores are low, that doesn’t represent how smart they are.

They were taken to the nursery so they could sleep a couple of hours. His family is safe and they went back home.

God DID the miracle.
